The Coffee we are currently roasting is a Kivu-Virguna blend. Kivu, located in the Democratic Republic of Congo at the boarders of Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi, is subject to on-going conflicts. A cooperation between coffee farmers, Farm Africa and the Virguna National Park is trying to encourage peace through the growing of specialty coffee.
As for the coffee profile, it is a medium body, medium acidity coffee with notes of dark chocolate, caramel, concord grape, and dried apricot.
